Champlain College, located in Burlington, Vt., was founded in 1878 as Burlington Business School to prepare young men for business careers. The college became coeducational in 1884, when a new owner acquired the school and changed its name to Queen City Business College. Today, Champlain offers traditional undergraduate as well as online graduate courses in more than 80 subject areas. The school, still located in Burlington, has about 2,000 undergrad students.
