Emmanuel College was established in 1919 as the first women’s Catholic college in New England. Located in Boston, the school today serves about 2,500 students. In its earliest years, Emmanuel was a day college preparing women for professional fields such as education, nursing and social work. In 2001, the college officially became coeducational. Emmanuel is a member of the colleges of the Fenway consortium.
